CGHL Game Format

  • There will be a 3 minute warm-up for all divisions 10U-19U.
  • 10U - three periods, 12 minutes stop time each.
  • 12U - three periods, 12 minutes stop time each.
  • 15U - three periods, 14 minutes stop time each.
  • 19U - three periods, 15 minutes stop time each.
  • Run clock in 3rd period with 5 goal differential


CGHL Penalty Lengths

  • Girls 10U: 1:00 minute
  • Girls 12U: 1:30 minutes
  • Girls 15U: 2:00 minutes
  • Girls 19U: 2:00 minutes

*In the case of penalties during a run clock scenario. Penalties will start at the drop of the puck. If a penalty ends during the stoppage of play the player may NOT return to the ice until play has resumed.


Curfew Rule

  • There will be a run clock option for a rink to impose should the schedule or time require such-either running the 1st period only or running the 1st and 2nd period. Period 3 should be stop time unless the game has a 5 or more goal differential.
  • Each team will be allowed one timeout in regulation play.
  • There shall be no overtime in any League games.


Rules and Regulations

Games will be curfewed when a rink’s schedule requires.

There will be no ice made in between periods.

Rosters must be inputted into Game Sheets before the contest.

Only coaches, players and team staff listed on the teams USA Hockey’s official roster shall be allowed on the bench.

Spectators must view the games from the designated area of the jamboree site. USA Hockey STAR program guidelines for parent, player, coach and other spectator behavior shall be enforced by the on-ice officials and the host tournament director and staff.

Each team should be prepared to provide a person to run the penalty box for their respective team.

The HOME team shall provide scorekeepers and clock operators. Game Sheets scoring should be utilized at all times.

The HOST association will provide a tablet for scoring.

Each team should have both home and away jerseys available.

USA Hockey, CAHA and CGHL rules will apply.

Each team should be ready to play ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the game.

A forfeit shall be declared if one of the teams is unavailable or unwilling to play. USA Hockey rules apply to minimum number of players. If a team is late for the start of a game for whatever reason, they need to contact a member of the host association.
